8 DAYS

Kind of Tour : 4×4 and Walking Expedition

This circuit is offered in the form of a 4X4 adventure involving daily walks.

Level : Moderate Level (5 to 6 hours of walking per day)

Situated in the extreme southeast of Tassili n’Ajjer, this journey offers marvel and tranquility in one of the most breathtaking Tassilian deserts. With 4×4 logistics support, we explore immense dunes that create an extraordinary palette of colors, with a predominant theme of red that we ascend. From Djaren and Moul Naga to Bouhadian, Tin Merzouga, and OuanZaouatane, we navigate through a labyrinth of canyons, rocky peaks, and arches. Within caves, whether open or on the ground, moving paintings and engravings unfold. This expedition is an immersion into one of the Sahara’s most captivating locales.

Day 01 : Arrival at the airport, greeted by our Tuareg team. Transfer to your bivouac site at Tinamali.

Day 02 : After breakfast, embark on a 4×4 journey to reach the Tadrart massif. Arrive at Wadi El Beridj. Take a stroll around our initial bivouac site.

Day 03 : Depart in the morning for a continuous hike towards the dune of Cirque de Moul Naga. Our trail takes us on an invisible path, heading directly east, navigating through expansive wadis, small dunes, and rock paintings. Our only guides are the position of the sun in the sky and our own shadows. Dinner and bivouac in the dunes.

Day 04 : Depart from the yellow dunes of Moul Naga. A leisurely walk through a desert valley, with dunes dominating the horizon. Traverse vast expanses until reaching Aainzaouaten, where we explore rock carvings. Dinner and bivouac.

Day 05 : Navigate through hidden passages to reach broad valleys surrounded by sand, where the presence of trees reminds us that not long ago, animals roamed freely. Encounter mouflons, damans (marmots), moula-moula (black-headed whites), and jackals. Explore paintings. Dinner and bivouac in Bohoudian.

Day 06 : Amidst this chaotic landscape, where dunes surge towards extraordinary fortresses, providing easy access to plateaus bearing traces of prehistoric human occupation. Ascend the large dune to witness the sunset, adapted to the preferences of the participants. Dinner and bivouac at Tin Merzouga.

Day 07 : Dizzying spires organize themselves into cathedrals, monumental arches stand in the heart of valleys, and canyons with astonishing sides carve into the ochre and sandy rock. Dinner and bivouac in Ouan Ahar.

Day 08 : All-terrain vehicles follow Wadi Djaren to unveil further imprints and paintings. Your guide is ADLATI Sabel Noiar.
