Testimonie from Charles Spedener in the Algerian Desert

I have already had the good fortune to explore the wonderful region around Djanet three times with the incomparable, friendly and lively Tuareg.

Moments that have left deep impressions on me. It’s not just the magical landscapes, the stunning frescoes on the plateau and the starry skies that are hard to describe, but also the Tuareg who accompanied us.

As distant as their culture is from ours, the experience of experiencing their world together with them and immediately feeling at home was all the more amazing, an experience that was absolutely enriching for me.

The last, but hopefully not the last trip I made together with a friend in 2018 and our tour guide was my friend Moussa. Everything was really wonderfully organized. And I won’t forget how he insisted on going to look for my lost power bank and found it again after a two-hour walk. I’m already looking forward to seeing him again next November. Inshallah.
