Testimonial From Karim in algerian desert
AUTISM 2024 KM
Karim’s Testimonial for her trip during december 2023
The testimony of Karim, the father of Ismaël, just like Adam, both children with their unique characteristics and a true, unfiltered personality within the autism spectrum.
Before Karim’s words, I would like to share my analysis. I was personally convinced that this journey would be an experience engraved in the existence of our children. Certainly, challenges have followed in recent years…
But nothing could dampen my motivation to give these children the right to exist. A daring challenge for some, even more than the 200 km marathon completed in January 2023 or the challenges in the Parisian region and France. And yes, the spark occurred for our little princes. There was a click, events, things that happened during this wonderful journey, and only Adam and Ismaël felt it. The desire to fully live their childhood. This desert crossing truly opens up possibilities for all children with disabilities… everything is possible, and let’s set no barriers for ourselves… life is beautiful, and let’s seize the good moments that Nature offers us, as only Nature knows how to do…
After an enchanting trip to Djanet, I am deeply moved by the generosity of the Tuaregs. Their warm hospitality and ability to adapt to the participants created an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking landscapes, where golden dunes stretch as far as the eye can see and rocky expanses captivated our hearts at every turn. Ismaël and Adam found a cinematic reference for every landscape.
The Tassili is an open-air museum. The history of humanity is written on the rocks, but you will also hear the history of the people who live on this land. We enjoyed the stories and anecdotes from our hosts.
The moments shared around the fire, and the simple gestures of generosity will be etched in my memory and that of my family. This journey was more than just a trip; it was an encounter with kind souls and an immersion in a world of solidarity and beauty. Tanemirt (thank you in Berber) to the Plus d’oxygène association, to Laïd, to Moussa, to his team, and to all the participants.
We were one family. Tanemirt, for these memories that will remain eternal in our hearts.
